Spa "Termas de Hipólito Muñoz"

Holidays in the South

When I was a kid, my parents and I used to travel a lot. It didn't matter where, we just jumped on the van
and started a very adventure-like trip. Or that was what I felt when we went out.
Villarrica Lake
We traveled from north to south of Chile, and visited unique and beautiful places. I remember a time when we went to Villarica Lake and surroundings for a two weeks or so.
It was a really long drive and I passed the most of the time sleeping so I don't remember clearly how did we get there. We were camping so we moved around the zone. Besides Villarrica Lake, we went to Clafquen Lake and a spa near Liquiñe, a little town by the mountains. The time I had there was amanzing, I played and swam a lot, and made many friends. It was amazing when we were in the pools ant it started to rain. The cold raindrops felt really relaxing in contrast to the warm water. Also there was a creek that carried cold water from the mountains that had a three meters depth. I was so scared to swim there but I did it anyways with my mother. I even had a nightmare about the creek, ha ha.
Everything I remember aout that is absolutely great. I would gladly go again if I could, with my parents or with friends. The south of Chile is amazing and there are a lot of places to visit and things to do so don't think it twice if you have the oportunity to go.

Back to the origins.

I have a uncommon surname that I am really proud of, "Giberto". This surname has its origins in a really small village located in Genova, northern Italy, called Chiesanuova, which means "new church". A really long time ago, approximately in Middle Ages, this village was property of Giberto family. Time passed and the lands property were traspassed, the family spreaded and so did the surname but a part of the family stayed in Chiesanuova.
Nowadays, the surname has almost disappeared, lasting a few members spreaded worldwide. I am one of thoose, and always wanted to reunite with the rest of the family. Some of them still live in Italy and recently we have established contact. Last year my uncle traveled here with his wife and we met for the first time. They invited us and I was like "absolutely yes!". I always wanted to visit Italy and of course meet my family so now im glad because it started to seem possible.
When they came, we talked about what living in Italy is like. They actually don't live in Chiesanuova. My uncle, Luciano, has a flat in Levanto, a coastal town a few kilometers away from Chiesanuova. His wife, Milena, lives in Genova, a city which is a further away northwestly following the coast. Also there is a house in Chiesanuova who belongs to the family. If I get to travel Italy I would love to visit all this cities. Genova and Levanto has beaches so I would like to take a swim, even in winter! Of course, I think Italian food is delicious so I would like to taste different kinds of pasta and iconic Genovese gastronomy, as Focaccia (kind of bread made with onions) and specially have a good time with my family in home. I think the most important thing is this encounter with my roots.
